2 steps were completed, the larger half of a torque converter was examined fr contaminants, using visual and black light aids. The torque converter was placed in the ultrasonic bath and examined every 5 minutes until clean. The part was cleaned for 15 minutes with inspections every 5 minutes.
Conclusion
Transmission parts should be cleaned ultrasonically and do not rinse the parts to prevent rusting. To prevent rust, use compressed air to dry the parts immediately the hot ultrasonic bath. If there are road grime stains, use F-10 acid cleaner will remove those stains and bead lasting will not be required. Ultrafiltration is highly recommended, it would keep the cleaning bath clean and reduce the use of OCS and water.
